Bob Wiggins
Freelance Journalist & Presenter
About
I am a freelance journalist with a passion for news. I have a keen interest in Motorsports and regularly compete in events around the country. One of my ambitions is to write about and present coverage of motorsport events. Some of my motorsport articles can be seen in Retro Ford Magazine, as i regularly contribute to their magazine with articles mainly but not limited to, motorsports.
I recently graduated with a 2:1 in Media Production: Journalism at York St John University. Whilst at university I wrote articles for York based media company, YorkMix and the Yorkie, a university online news blog/channel.
Since university I have had numerous articles published in Retro Ford Magazine and I have become a presenter for York Hospital Radio for both a regular show and as part of the team for Goaline, the football show following York City FC.
I have also undertaken freelance work as part of my course for Vixen 101, a radio station based in East Yorkshire, interviewing local people with stories to tell for the station’s news broadcasts.
I was also involved in a documentary about Freemasons, going behind the scenes to uncover the lives of a Freemason. My role in this documentary was as a researcher and presenter/interviewer. This has not only enhanced my journalistic and presenting skills, but has given me more of an understanding of the media and production side of documentary film.
I have also helped in multiple roles such as a camera op/BTS photographer and general runner for a media campaign advert for lighting company Lights4Fun for their Halloween social media advertising campaign in 2023, working with production company Trix Agency.
